The Road Less Traveled..Belongs to Someone Else…

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged but I am back! I have been on an amazing journey that has not been my own… let me explain..

There are times in life where someone else allows us to be a part of their journey…that journey may have hills and bumps, rain and thunderstorms, and sometimes the path will be smooth..the greatness is that someone wanted you with them to experience the journey with them…

A friend of mine just completed his first book!! It took him 7 years to complete the story of the beginnings of his life and, although the journey was filled with memories of sadder times, the result of his perseverance shows! I wanna thank him for allowing me to be a part of that journey with him.. on his journey, I learned about his life and how he has grown into the man that he is today.. statistically speaking, the life he experienced will not often lead to being a published author but because of the choices that he made throughout his life, he has risen above the odds! And because of his journey, I know that I, too, can reach any goal that I set for myself… the journey is not over!

Being a part of someone’s journey can help you to remember yours…

Not going on the journey is simply NOT AN OPTION…

*i will post a link when the book is through the final edit.. it’s a must read!!!*

Thank you, Rico

Clear the Mechanism

A term often used in baseball, I first heard this in the movie, “For the Love of the Game” starring Kevin Costner and Kelly Preston..In the movie, he’s a major league pitcher, pitching in his last career game..as he is setting up to pitch, he tells himself to “clear the mechanism” and all the noise around him fades away and the only thing he focuses on is the pitch.

We spend so much time focusing on everything around us that we don’t focus on what’s in front of us. We spend so much time worried about what he said or she said that we don’t pay attention to what we say.. we spend so much time worrying about how this person got what they have and not enough time focusing on how to get what we want..we spend so much time worrying what others are doing, that we don’t even know what we are doing..

I was researching something this morning and found myself in that exact spot.. worrying about someone else’s success that I failed to look at my own successes.. that woke me up!

Everybody has a journey and everybody’s journey is not the same. Our paths may be different with different struggles and bumps, but our destinations all lead to success! You know how people slow down when they see an accident?? They’re just trying to see what’s going on and it slows down all of traffic.. the same thing happens when you focus on everybody else’s success.. it just slows you down from achieving yours!

Clear your mechanism and stay focused on the prize.. your journey and your success!!

Slowing down to see the accident is simply NOT AN OPTION…

Introducing…

Bringing awareness to the cause..

Just because something holds you down, doesn’t mean you have to stay there..

Just because somebody told you that you were inadequate, doesn’t mean they are right…

Just because it’s hard to quit, doesn’t mean you can’t…

Just because somebody physically or mentally broke you, doesn’t mean you can’t rebuild…

Just because somebody said you can’t…only means that you have to…

You may need support or someone you love… let’s give it to them!! Let’s show them that giving up is simply NOT AN OPTION!!

The Grass is Greener….

Imagine that you live in a jail cell..as if you would be there for the rest of your life..someone tells you when you get up..when to shower…when you can go outside..when to eat.. and when to go to sleep. After doing this for so long, you get comfortable in your everyday life.. you don’t need for anything or want for anything.. except your freedom…

Most of live inside of cells.. they are our minds.. our comfort zones. But what really happens inside of your zone?? Nothing!!! Just everyday, routines!! But we are afraid to step outside because we are afraid of the unknown. What if you decide to take a leap of faith and find that new job you’ve wanted? What if you take that leap and start that business that everyone told you would fail? Fear tells you that if you take that leap, you’ll land on your face..Faith tells you that if you take that leap, God will keep you from falling..

The cell in the picture above is a representation of your mind.. your comfort zone.. if you look closely, you’ll see a key in the door that you can certainly turn to unlock the door.. but if you look a little closer, you’ll see that the door is already open and all you have to do is walk through..

Being in your comfort zone is one thing, staying there is simply NOT AN OPTION!!
